Tuskegee Airmen Memorial Dedication

Diving With a Purpose (DWP), the State of Alabama, the State of Michigan and the City of Port
Huron is dedicating a memorial to recognize the accomplishments of the Tuskegee Airmen of
WWII, trained in the State of Alabama and perished in accidents in the State of Michigan. The
dedication/unveiling ceremony will be the culmination of three-days of activities. The purpose
of this three-day event is to bring national attention to recognize the accomplishments of the
Tuskegee Airmen of World War II.

The activities during the three-day event include: (1) a welcome reception; (2) museum
exhibition; (3) a luncheon; and (4) the memorial dedication/unveiling ceremony.

Port Huron Museum Exhibit

Leading up to the dedication an exhibit on DWP and the Tuskegee Airmen project will be
featured at the Port Huron Museum. They will be open to the public with an objective of
educating the community at-large on the accomplishments of Tuskegee Airmen and the pilots
that perished in accidents in the Port Huron, Michigan area.

The ceremony will feature surviving Tuskegee Airmen, descendants of Tuskegee Airmen, guests
and media. The International Flag Plaza along the St. Clair River in the City of Port Huron,
Michigan is the designated site for the memorial.

Welcome Reception

The Welcome Reception will be held at the Blue Water Convention Center. This reception is
open to the general community and will welcome out-of-town guests. The Convention Center is
a short walk from the memorial dedication site in the City of Port Huron, Michigan.

Memorial Dedication/Unveiling Ceremony

Guests for the dedication/unveiling ceremony will include surviving Tuskegee Airmen and their
descendants; the general public and civic community; State (Alabama and Michigan) and local
business community; State/local (Alabama and Michigan)politicians; and State/local (Alabama
and Michigan)government officials. Invited guests include National politicians and United States
Military officials.

Dedication Luncheon

Immediately after the unveiling/dedication ceremony, the Tuskegee Airmen Memorial Luncheon
will be held at the Blue Water Convention Center.
The luncheon will be a banquet style event. Guests will include surviving Tuskegee Airmen and their descendants; the general public and civic community; State and local (Alabama and
Michigan) business community; State/local (Alabama and Michigan) politicians; and State/local
(Alabama and Michigan) government officials. Invited guests include National politicians and
United States Military officials. The luncheon will feature a national keynote speaker from the
Maritime Archaeology field.
