The Science & Education Committee (SEC) of the National Association of Black Scuba Divers champions knowledge, safety, and lifelong learning across the NABS community. Our mission is to equip divers with the skills, confidence, and understanding needed to explore, protect, and lead both underwater and above the surface.
π Summit-Level Education β 2026 NABS Summit ClassesΒ
As part of the 2026 NABS Summit in Costa Rica, the SEC will be offering a curated set of classes designed for divers of all experience levels β from beginners to seasoned professionals. These sessions focus on diver safety, emergency preparedness, and introductory dive exposure:
πΉ DAN CPR Training β Learn essential cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques tailored for diving emergencies and general first aid.
πΉ DAN Emergency Oxygen for Scuba Diving Injuries β Gain hands-on skills in administering emergency oxygen β a critical lifesaving response for dive injuries.
πΉ Discover Scuba Experience β New divers and the βscuba-curiousβ can get their first taste of breathing underwater in a safe, guided setting.
All classes are facilitated by experienced educators and dive professionals dedicated to safe, supportive learning environments.
