In 2014, I attended my first NABS summit at the age of 24, making me the youngest diver at the event. Having been a certified diver for six years, I initially felt intimidated by the experienced divers around me. However, the NABS family quickly made me feel at ease and comfortable. Since that first summit, I have dived all over the world with confidence, achieving my goal of diving to 130 feet in Barbados and exploring the world’s deepest pool in Dubai.
My journey with NABS has led me to attend several summits, including those in Cozumel, Egypt, Saint Lucia, and President’s Meetings where I represented the youth. I have introduced new members to NABS, providing them the unique experience of diving with a community of black divers. Currently, I serve on the NABS Summit Committee, ensuring that all divers, especially the younger ones, have access to appropriate entertainment and support.
My experiences with NABS have been transformative, allowing me to grow both as a diver and as a community member.
